March 28th – Italidea Open House. Congratulations to the lucky winners of the raffle!
March 25th – Bell’Italia.
Within the frame of the cultural celebration" Neighborhoods of the World" and in occasion of "Bell'Italia", the scheduled events series dedicated to Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with Navy Pier, organized this evocative dance show, featured by the performer Alessandra Belloni and the ensemble I Giullari di Piazza, and the performance of the singer Vince Amore.
March 22nd – Locomotrix Presentation.
Selected Poetry and Prose by Amelia Rosselli. With the author of the book, Jennifer Scappettone, and Antonio Riccardi.
March 20th – I Promessi Sposi.
At the Claudia Cassidy Theatre, the theatre of the Cultural Centre, a theatrical, literary, music performance based on "I Promessi Sposi". Performed by the actor Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, accompanied by Gilda Gelati, first ballerina of the ballet company of Teatro alla Scala, and Elsa Martignoni, violinist of the Orchestra "Giuseppe Verdi" of Milan. In Italian with English supertitles.
March 9th – Is Venice Finally Saved?
A roundtable discussion on the ongoing efforts to save Venice, led by the Director of CORILA Pierpaolo Campostrini. He was introduced by the Mayor of Venice Giorgio Orsoni and by the Consul General Alessandro Motta. Ambassador Antonio Armellini was in attendance.
March 8th – Aida Panel.
Led by the Musicologist Philip Gossett, with the participation of the Conductor Renato Palumbo, Tenor Marco Berti (Radames) and Soprano Hui He (Aida).
March 4th – Light Years Exhibit Tour.
Led by the Curator Matthew Witkovsky, with the participation of Professor Giuliano Sergio and the artist Gilberto Zorio
March 1st – Ugo Mulas.
Art and Photography Historian Giuliano Sergio illustrating the work by the Italian Photographer Ugo Mulas, and presenting the book "Ugo Mulas - Vitalita' del Negativo". Giuliano Sergio was introduced by Matthew Witkovsky, Curator and Chair of the Department of Photography at the Art Institute of Chicago.
February 27th – Six Characters in Search of an Author.
Hypocrites performing Pirandello's "Six Characters in Search of an Author"; adapted by Steve Moulds, directed by Halena Kays.
February 23rd – Maestro Antonio Fava.
Master Mask Maker Antonio Fava explains the Commedia dell'Arte, performing its main characters with Cecilia di Donato.
February 16th – Murder and Media in the New Rome.
Presentation of "Media and Murder in the New Rome", by Thomas Simpson; with the partecipation of Professor Anthony L. Cardoza.
January 26th – Holocaust Remembrance Day.
